Nigerian champions Kano Pillars defeated Bayelsa United 2-1 in their second game of the ongoing Super Four pre-season tournament as Enyimba maintained their position at the top with a 2-0 win over Warri Wolves on Sunday.
Pillars now meet the reigning Federation Cup holders, Enyimba, on Tuesday in an epic finale at the Abuja National Stadium.
Enyimba maintained their 100% winning streak to stay six point clear at the top of the table with the round-robin matches drawing to a close.
Abdulraham Bashir, whose treble sunk Bayelsa united in Friday’s opening day fixture, again, opened scoring for the Aba outfit, heading home from an Mfon Udoh’s pass within just ten minutes of kick-off.
Wolves striker Musa Najere got his marching order for deliberately hitting Emmanuel Anyanwu, before Enyimba’s captain Markson Ojobo was also sent off following a needless tackle on Michael Egbeta nine minutes to the hour mark.
Substitute Emeka Nwanna completed scoring for Enyimba in the 89th minute.
In the latter game of the day, Bello Kofarmata opened scoring for Sai Masu Gida from the spot kick after he was pulled down in the goal area by Bayelsa United goalkeeper Opubo.
New recruit Ezekiel Mbah doubled Pillars’ lead on the stroke of the half-hour mark, off Opubo’s rebound, but Fortune Chukwudi grabbed a consolatory goal for Bayelsa United in the 58th minute.
Chukwudi scored from the 12 yard spot after Tongera was brought down in Pillars’ box.
