Three sets of New Years twins will have a lifetime of explaining to do. In each case one baby was born on Dec. 31 and the other on Jan. 1. They’re twins, yet they were born in different years.
One mother is already dedicated to making sure each of her little girls gets their own special day.
“They won’t have to celebrate birthdays together. They endured enough just to get here, and have been through enough complications already that they deserve to have their own parties,” said Veronica Reed, 31, who is recovering from a C-section at Abilene Regional Medical Center in Texas.
In Washington, D.C., Yaleni Santos Tohalino gave birth to baby girl Lorraine Yaleni Begazo at 11:58 p.m. on Dec. 31. Her brother Brandon Ferdinando Begazo was born four minutes later at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 1.
“I feel wonderful, full of joy and happiness and a full sense of realization,” the twins’ father, Warren Begazo, told ABCNews.com. “This is her first children ever, and they’re beautiful and she’s really happy.”
In Toronto, mother Lindsay Salgueiro gave birth to fraternal twin girls. Gabriela Salgueiro was born on Dec. 31, 11:52 p.m., and her younger sister Sophia Salgueiro was born at 12:05 a.m. on Jan 1. [ABC]
