Governor Mukthar Ramalan Yero of Kaduna State yesterday called on youths not to allow themselves to be used as tools in the hands of unscrupulous politicians to create confusion, but rather strive to be employers of labour through skill acquisition.
Yero made this known at the graduation of the fifth batch of beneficiaries of the Youth Empowerment and Skills Acquisition Programme of the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company, KPRC.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Nuhu Bajoga, challenged the youths to acquire skills, to enable them contribute to the state’s economy.
He noted that the era of waiting for white collar jobs was over.
“There are bound to be challenges, but your ability to surmount hurdles that will come your way, is the key to achieving greatness”, Yero told the graduating students.
