82 Special Marshals De-marshalled, Suspended In Ebonyi

55 special marshals have been de-marshalled and 27 suspended in Ebonyi State, by the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, following inability to meet up with the assessment parameters of the Corps.

State Sector Commander of FRSC and State Coordinator, Special Marshal and Partnership, SMP. T.G Eseyin and Dr. Henry Uro-chukwu respectively, in a statement by the the agency emphasised that members of the special marshal were expected to be men and women of proven integrity with means of livelihood in society.

It stated that the Corps was ready to partner other agencies to ensure that the objective behind the enlistment of special marshals in the country was achieved.

The corps therefore warned the affected special marshals against withholding security materials in their possession as any action in that direction would be termed a criminal offence.

“All affected special marshals are to submit all FRSC stickers, documents, materials, regalia, ID cards (including expired ones) to the Sector Commander, Unit Commanders of Afikpo and Ishiagu on or before February 20, 2014,” the statement read in part.
