Ajimobi Signs 2014 Appropriation Bill Into Law

abiola ajimobiGov. Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State on Friday signed the 2014 Appropriation Bill of N208.38 billion into law.

Ajimobi presented the 2014 appropriation bill of N188.84billion to the House of Assembly on Dec.19, 2013, but the house increased the budget size to N208. 38billion.

Presenting the bill to the governor for assent, the Speaker, Alhaja Monsurat Sunmonu, said that members of the house identified with the good works and leadership of the governor.

“This is why the house has been performing its legislative functions to complement and sustain the developmental efforts of the governor.

“In consideration of the appropriation bill, the house interacted with the various government ministries, departments, agencies and commissions.

“This is to ensure that the projects in the draft budgets are in line with the transformation agenda of the government”, she said.

Sunmonu said that at the interactive session, the house felt that some projects that would boost the legacy of the present administration were given priority.

According to her, some adjustments are made to accommodate such projects that are given priority.

She, however, pledged the house’s continuous support and cooperation to sustain good governance in the state.

Ajimobi commended the house for taken into consideration the government’s vision to improving the infrastructures for social and economic development of the state.

“I must commend the house for the increase because it will give us the opportunity to develop the state. I thank you for a job well done”, Ajimobi said.

According to him, N97.9billion will be spent on recurrent expenditure as against N110.4billion for capital expenditure. (NAN)
