Nigeria international striker Bright Dike has undergone a successful surgery on his leg injury.
The Toronto FC player wrote on his Twitter page (@bbright19) that the “surgery went well”.
He however remains a major doubt for the Super Eagles, who are due to make their fifth appearance at the 20th Fifa World Cup in Brazil, starting on June 16 with a game against Iran.
Dike ruptured his Achilles tendon during training session with his club on Monday.
The striker, who has scored twice in as many international appearances, was named in the squad for the March 5 friendly against Mexico in Atalanta, USA.
Surgery went well I’m blessed to receive so many kind words. I thank God for the people around me. Now I’m passing out for at least 10 hours

He had recently returned from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee prior to Monday’s set-back.
