€5m Release Clause Stopped Lawal from Joining Betis- Report.

Nigeria international, Raheem Lawal, failed to join Real Betis because of a five million Euros buyout clause placed in his contract, MTNFootball.com can exclusively report.

Sources privy to the details of the transfer says a huge buyout clause the La Liga team put in the contracgt scuppered the deal.

As earlier reported, Lawal was due to pen down a two-and-a-half deal with the Spanish League outfit, but the management did not agree to the player “and his manager’s proposal which was to release him to another team at a lesser fee if Real Betis failed to survive relegation.”

Betis lies bottom of the La Liga and looked well on a journey down the league hierarchy.
