The police in Ekiti State have finalized arrangements to begin the prosecution of the seven suspected kidnappers that were arrested in connection with the abduction of two people in the state recently.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Command, Mr. Victor Babayemi, who spoke on behalf of the state Police Commissioner, Mr. Felix Uyanna, in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, said those fingered in the kidnap of a medical doctor with the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Abayomi Adekunle, and a Lagos-based businessman, Chief Femi Fadeyi, were nabbed recently.
Adekunle and Fadeyi were kidnapped at different points in the state but were later found at a location in Ijero Ekiti.
Uyanna said, “Those arrested shall be prosecuted. I want to state that investigations are ongoing.
“We don’t believe in fire-brigade approach. We are methodical in our investigations so that we can ascertain the level of involvement of each of the suspects.
“Facts will be available for us to prefer necessary charges. We are determined to make Ekiti a no-go-area for criminals and this we will achieve at all cost”, the police spokesperson said.
