Herdsmen Attacks: Suswam Warns Benue Residents Against Raising False Alarm

Gabriel-SuswamGov. Gabriel Suswam of Benue on Monday warned residents of the state against raising false alarm following recent attacks by some herdsmen in the state.

Suswam gave the warning in Makurdi while inaugurating the SURE-P committee in the state.

He said it was unfortunate that ‘mischief makers’ were taking advantage of the fragile security situation in the state to raise false alarm over herdsmen attacks.

The governor said that such false alarms often forced some people to flee their homes and exposed them to different forms of hazards.

He assured that the government was taking necessary measures to tackle any crisis in the state and implored the residents of the state to have confidence in the government.

“Do not to allow hoodlums take advantage of the situation to create tension and unrest in your mind”, Suswam said.

He said the government was collaborating with security agencies in the state to safeguard lives and property of innocent citizens in the state. (NAN)
