How Son Killed His Father While Trying To Cure Mental Illness

Three men are currently being detained by the police in Oyo State Police Command over the death of a man, Mr Dauda Raji, who died last Friday in Ibadan, after he reportedly took herbal concoction forced on him by three men, including his son, one Taofeek Raji.

policeThe men have admitted giving him the concoction but said it was meant to cure the deceased of his mental illness.

It was gathered that the deceased had called his lawyer, one Barrister Bello Babatunde on January 30 at about 10.00 p.m., saying that his son Taofeek, and two others wanted to kill him.

It was further learnt that the lawyer went to the man’s house at Oje area the following day at about 7.00 a.m., only to meet the man locked up in a building while Taofeek and two other were outside.

On enquiry by the lawyer, on the reason why Raji was locked up, his son,Taofeek was said to have replied that his father was mentally ill and he and others wanted to administer traditional medicinal concoction on him to relieve him of the illness.

On the same day, at about 12 noon, the lawyer reportedly received another call from late Raji, insisting that his son and two others wanted to kill him again.

By the time the lawyer got to the man’s house later in the evening of the same day, he found out that he was dead.
