Vilareal striker Ikechukwu Uche is a major doubt for this weekend’s La Liga clash against Real Madrid.
The Nigeria international suffered a hamstring injury in his club’s 3-1 league win over Ossasuna. He lasted for 43 minutes before he was substituted.
Subsequent scan on the injury shows the forward has suffered a hamstring strain in his right leg and will now miss the league game at Real Madrid on Saturday, club medics have revealed.
Uche is the ‘Yellow Submarines’s’ top scorer with 12 league goals. He could be sidelined for two to three weeks.
Villareal are 5th on the league standings with 40 points from 22 games.
