Japan Backs Nigeria’s Automotive Policy

Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Ryuichi Shoji, has assured Nigeria of his country’s readiness to support  Nigeria’s Automobile Development Plan.

Apart from Japanese support in the automobile industry, Shoji said his country would also provide facilities to aid the development of education in  Nigeria.

The Japanese envoy said this in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State during his visit to the campus of the Elizade University owned by the Chairman of Toyota Nigeria Limited, Chief Michael Ade Ojo.

Shoji gave assurance of Japan’s readiness to support Nigeria’s quest to develop it’s automobile industry and join the league of nations that produce vehicles, but he noted that the dream is a long term one, saying the country would spend years before the plan could materialise.

The envoy also said Japan was ready to help in the area of human capacity development to be able to drive policy of government.
