Gov. Ibrahim Shema of Kastina State on Thursday in Abuja, described Alhaji Adamu Mu`azu, the PDP National Chairman as “the PDP recharge engine”.
The governor made this known when he led a delegation of the party`s stakeholders in the state on a congratulatory visit to Mu’azu.
“We wish you the best of luck in your efforts at repositioning the party since you assumed office. For me, you are PDP recharge engine.
“You have recharged the party, it is now left for PDP members to start talking”, Shema said.
He said that Kastina state would continue to work and serve the PDP for giving it the presidency through the emergence of Shehu Yar’adua as President in 2007.
Shema said that the state was inseparable from the PDP, “I will remain committed to the party being the only true national party in the country”.
According to him, the PDP remains the party of choice in Kastina state.
Responding, Mu’azu commended the Kastina state governor for building on the legacies of his predecessor, a situation he noted led to a great development in the state.
The PDP chairman said that he would continue to depend on the advice of Shema and other party stakeholders to run the party`s affairs and expressed gratitude for the visit.
Mu’azu said that the prayers and commitment of party members were critical to ensure that it surmounted its challenges and emerged victorious in 2015 general elections.
He emphasised the need for PDP aspirants to ensure that they were acquainted with those at the grassroots ahead of 2015 general elections if they must realise their political ambitions.
The party chairman urged intending aspirants to campaign to the people and get them convinced, adding that the PDP would rather win convincingly than anointing any aspirant.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that House of Representatives members, chairmen of the 34 local government areas of the state and party stakeholders were in the entourage. (NAN)
