Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu of Niger State has predicted a landslide victory for the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, during the 2015 general elections in the country.
Aliyu said that all the problems rocking the party had been resolved, which has paved the way for the ruling party to win the forthcoming polls.
He made this known at Government House, Minna, the state capital while receiving both the Head of the European Union to Nigeria and the executive members of the Bayero University, Kano Alumni Association, who paid him a courtesy visit.
Aliyu, who was the self-styled leader of the group of seven aggrieved governors of the PDP, also known as G-7 Governors, who were opposed to the continued stay in office of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as national chairman of the party, as well as President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term ambition, berated his former colleagues in the G-7, who defected to the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, thinking that the PDP was finished, saying that they made a political miscalculation, because, the PDP was now stronger, better, more democratic and transparent.
His words: “Some people think that they have wounded us (PDP) by defecting from the party but I am glad to tell you today that we are stronger, better, more democratic and transparent”.
On Jonathan’s scheduled visit to the state on Saturday, Aliyu said that it was not going to be an avenue for the president to declare his 2015 presidential ambition, since it was not a political campaign but a unity rally for the North-Central zone.
According to the governor, who was the first to blow the whistle on the existence of a document purportedly signed by Mr. Jonathan, promising not to seek a second term, the president would declare his interest to run for elections any time he was ready to do so, because it would not be a hidden event.
“President Jonathan is not coming to Niger state to declare his intention to run for 2015 elections neither is he coming to the state to campaign. If he is campaigning, he will announce it. The President is coming to Niger state for a solidarity and unity rally for the North Central”, he added.
Aliyu is a traitor and only fighting for his personal interest. He was bluffing around his colleague and he would be dissappointed by the end result in sha Allah.
According to G-5 governors, both Babangida Aliyu and Sule Lamido were to stay back in the PDP to “bury” the later, why now making this sudden U-turn, is this part of the trick or a change in loyalty?
Governors Aliyu and sule lamido are smart politicians. Why join a party that is bound to fail in the presidential polls just because there was a storm in pdp. Apc isn’t a progressive party rather its the nigerian version of the Muslim brotherhood party.
This Is not the aliyu That i know,
the body language shows that Jonathan Is in trouble .
lets wait and ses.
APC IS Focus in Anger and disUnity in the Country While THe PDP is FOCUS On BRinging PEACE AND UNITY IN THE COUNTRY.
