Cricket: Nigeria Beat Cayman Islands By 7 Wickets in Kuala Lumpur

Nigeria’s senior cricket national team kept promotion hopes alive by beating Cayman Islands at the Kinrara Academy Oval in Kuala Lumpur today.

Nigeria won the coin toss but chose to field as the opening (batsmen) duo of Endurance Ofem and Segun Olayinka would later prove incisive during a highly intensive catch-up game.

The West Africans didn’t start too well with Saheed Akolade sending the first ball of the match for five wides.

Both Cayman Islands openers were however sent packing for ducks by Akolade, but Raymond Sealy assumed responsibility over the first half of the innings scoring 58 before he was bowled by Olajide Bejide in the 27th over, taking the score to 91-5.
