Job description

As a graphic designer you will be responsible for creating design solutions that have high visual impact. The role involves listening to clients and understanding their needs before making design decisions.

You will design creative for use in media and multi-media collateral for brand building, merchandising, marketing and corporate communications across all touch-points.

Responsibilities
Print

  • Liaising with clients to determine their requirements and budget
  • Designing client proposals from typesetting (taking a word document, designing it in Adobe Indesign etc) through to design, print and production
  • Working with clients, briefing and advising them with regard to proposal style, format, print production and timescales
  • Developing concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and internet website
  • Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and font style and size
  • Preparing rough drafts of material based on agreed brief
  • Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements if required
  • Liaising with external printers on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed to the highest quality.

Digital

  • You will be required to design across mobile and web. These will include mobile web design, web design, social app design, online ad design and more.
  • You must have an exceptional creative talent and an eye for detail. Art direction goes beyond being able to use graphic software; you must be able to take a brief from inception, conceptualization, and presentation through to implementation.
  • You must have at least 6 years experience as a designer and 3 years experience as a web designer. Work experience in an ad agency would be an advantage.
  • Should be a creative thinker and be able to provide innovative designs Must have a portfolio
  • Experience creating designs that are standards based
  • Verify cross browser compatibility of designs
  • Create wireframes, storyboards and mock-ups to communicate the UI design and theme.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly self motivated and directed.
  • Ability to work without a lot of supervision.

Technical requirements

  • Knowledge of HTML 5
  • At least intermediate level expertise in using Adobe Suite with focus on Indesign, Photoshop, illustrator and flash.
