Emenike, Echiejile, Arrive in Atlanta for Mexico

Emmanuel Emenike and Elderson Echiejile are the recent arrivals in the Super Eagles base in Atlanta ahead of Wednesday’s Mexico friendly.

This follows the arrivals of Chelsea FC midfielder, Mikel Obi, and on loan Liverpool winger, Victor Moses.

Coach Stephen Keshi, who joined the team at lunch time on Monday, was satisfied with the prompt arrival of most of his Europe-based players.

The team will have their first training on Monday evening at 8pm local time, which will be 2am Tuesday in Nigeria.

They will have a feel of the Atlanta Dome in its last training session slated for Tuesday, before the World Cup 2014 warm-up game on Wednesday at the same venue.

The Nigerian delegation which left Lagos on Sunday night arrived the Atlanta International airport at about 5:05 am local time, which is 12:05pm in Nigeria.

After airport formalities, the team of officials and four players were taken to the W. Hotels in the city centre where they will stay for the encounter.

At the hotel, the Nigerian Ambassador/Consul General, Ambassador Geoffrey I. Teneilabe, was on hand to receive the team and assured that the Nigerian community will come out to back the team on Wednesday against Mexico. He believes the team has the ability to overcome the opposition.
