The national leadership of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday, postponed by one week, its earlier scheduled ward congresses to elect its flag bearer for the June 21, 2014, Ekiti State gubernatorial election.
This was contained in a statement by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh.
According to Metuh, the congress was earlier slated for yesterday.
The party said the postponement is to allow party members participate in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration and verification exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
It would be recalled that the PDP Screening Committee, chaired by Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba had cleared 13 of 16 aspirants to participate in the primaries.
