Injured Ozil Ruled Out for “at Least Few Weeks”

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is facing “at least a few weeks” out after injuring his hamstring in last night’s Champions League exit at Bayern Munich.

Ozil, who signed for the Gunners from Real Madrid for £42.4m, will have a scan on Wednesday.

“We have to make a scan tomorrow to see how bad it is but he is out for at least a few weeks,” said Wenger.

The 25-year-old midfielder, who missed a penalty during the last-16 first-leg 2-0 defeat at the Emirate Stadium last month, pulled off at half-time in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena, which resulted to a 3-1 aggregate loss.

Bastian Schweinsteiger opened scoring for the reigning European and German champions, but Lukas Podolski leveled for Arsenal few minutes later.

The Gunners will now have two chances- the Premier League and the FA Cup, were they’ve set up a Wembley semis with holders Wigan Athletic- to end their nine-year trophy drought this season.
