A mental patient in Oklahoma City stole an ambulance from St. Anthony’s hospital and took it on a 30 mile joyride south to the town of Purcell.

Hospital administrators notified police when they noticed that one of their ambulances was missing late Saturday. Police realized that the ambulance had GPS tracking and were able to find out the location, speed, and direction of the ambulance. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol was able to stop the driver on a highway in Purcell.

Hospital officials are trying to find out how a man they described as a “mental patient” gained access to the ambulance and was able to drive it out of the bay.
