Barca Satisfied at LFP Verdict on Neymar’s Transfer

Barcelona are “pleased” after an investigation by the Spanish league (LFP) found “no irregular conduct” in their signing of Neymar.

“The club wish to express their satisfaction at the resolution of the Economic Control Committee of the Liga Nacional de Futbol Professional (LFP) that there is no existence of any irregular conduct committed by FC Barcelona in the signing of Neymar Jr,” a club statement read.

Barca had previously confirmed the Brazilian’s parent got £34m of the £48.6m paid for the Brazilian last June.

The deal remains under criminal investigation over alleged tax crimes.

Ex-club president Sandro Rosell stepped down in January following accusations the club has broken transfer rules. His successor Josep Maria Bartomeu revealed the true cost of signing Neymar including his signing bonus, commissions, marketing deals, donation to the player’s foundation and other deals was actually £71.5m.
