Everton’s Mirallas Ruled Out for the Rest of the Season

Everton are set to miss Kevin Mirallas for the remaining three games of the season because of a groin injury.

Manager Roberto Martinez revealed the forward has a small tear in his groin and will be out for the next three weeks.

The Belgian pulled up at full time of Sunday’s 2-0 win over Manchester United, after scoring the Toffees’ second goal shortly before half-time.

The 26-year-old wants to focus on being fit for the national team, who are due to participate at this year’s Fifa World Cup.

“I am very sad because I can’t help my teammates for the last three games,” Mirallas was quoted through Romelu Lukaku’s Twitter account as saying.

“I hope the team will qualify for the Champions League and I will have some treatment so I’m ready for the World Cup.”

He is set to miss Everton games against Southampton this weekend, the trip to Manchester City on May 3rd and the last game of the season at Hull City.

The Goodison Park outfit are a point adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal in the race for a European Champions League appearance next season.
