Falcons Beat Cameroon in a Friendly Match

Nigeria’s senior women’s football team, the Super Falcons, edged Cameroon 1-0 in a friendly encounter on Tuesday.

Asisat Oshoala’s a superb volley in the 85th minute of the match played at the Fifa Goal Project in Abuja separated both sides at full-time.

“I am very happy to score the only goal for my team, the match was very tough but we are happy we got victory at last,” Oshoala said.

The match was part of both team’s build-up for the final qualifying round of the 2014 African Women’s Championship (AWC).

Cameroon are set to play the Teranga Lioness of Senegal while Nigeria confronts the She-Amavubi of Rwanada in a two-legged tie in Kigali and Abuja.

This year’s AWC tournament will be hosted in Namibia
