Glo Premier League: Rangers Too Hot for Nembe City

Rangers sealed off a 3-0 win over Nembe City in their rescheduled Match Day 1 fixture at the UNEC Stadium, Enugu.

The game was suspended in its 78th minute on Wednesday due to a heavy downpour.

The hosts led 1-0 at half-time, after Meshack Chukwubuikem opened scoring inside the opening quarter.

Christian Obiozor, who came on as substitute, doubled the ‘Flying Antelopes’ lead on 58 minutes, but the match officials, after consultation with relevant authorities, forced proceedings to a halt due to the rainfall 20 minutes later.

On resumption of the remainder 12 minutes on Thursday morning, Rangers sealed the contest through Obiozor’s strike in the 89th minute.

The victory helps Rangers move up ninth on the league standing, while Nembe are still in search of their first point, albeit three outstanding games from their period in exile.

Rangers will this Sunday be guests to Dolphins at the Liberation Stadium in Port Harcourt while Nembe City will host Bayelsa United in a Yenagoa Derby in Omoku.
