LMC Fines Kaduna United, Supporters Club Handed 12-Month Ban

The official Kaduna United Supporters Club have been banned from attending all league games involving the club for a period of one year.

The League Management Company (LMC), in a statement released on Saturday, says it has fined the ‘Crocodiles’ the sum of N250,00 for a breach of security around Match Officials, after the 1-1 draw against Heartland on Saturday, April 12.

“Kaduna United is held responsible for the conduct of their fans as provided for under Rules 115:16 and is therefore fined N250, 000 as a first offender to serve as an appropriate deterrent to all others”, LMC’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salihu Abubakar wrote in a statement.

The league body have also ordered the ‘Crocodiles’ to install or restore electricity supply and proper lighting in the tunnel and dressing room area of their Ahmadu Bello Stadium ground before their next home game.

Failure to improve the aforementioned facility is set to cost the club a whooping sum of N100,000.00 for each game.

The LMC decisions are based on reports tendered by the Match Commissioner after the Glo Premier League match. The club is also accused of allowing unauthorised persons access to match officials.

“Kaduna United failed to secure egress leading to the Dressing Rooms thereby allowing unauthorized persons access to match officials who were now exposed to potential danger,” the statement added.

“For this; Kaduna United shall pay a fine of N100, 000 and undertake to conduct a Supporters’ Enlightenment seminar to which leaders of their Supporters Club must be invited to before their next Home game. This seminar must be observed and approved by the LMC.”

Supporters of the club are being punished for rowdy behaviours after the match and have therefore “been put on notice of possible heavier sanctions should this type of behaviour repeat as envisaged by Rules 13:22.”
