Ahmed Musa- Eagles Must Give a Honourable Approach to World Cup Games

Nigeria should not underrate 2014 World Cup group F rivals, Iran and Bosnia-Herzegovina but be prepared to take each game one at a time in Brazil, says CSKA Moscow forward Ahmed Musa.

Musa, who could win his second straight Russian league title should CSKA beat third-placed Lokomotiv Moscow on Thursday, says other teams in the same group as the Super Eagles deserves equal respect as to that accorded favourites, Argentina.

“I know why many Nigerians are talking about Argentina, it is because they are a big team and alweays favourites to win the World Cup. But it will be dangerous to be thinking of only how to beat Argentina who will be the last team we will face in the group,” Musa is quoted as saying by AfricanFootball.com.

“We have to take it a game at a time. My mind will be on how to beat Iran first when we get to Brazil, then Bosnia.

“No team is a minnow in football again. Every team for the World Cup merits to be there, so they need to be respected. Looking down on Iran and Bosnia is dangerous. We have to beat them first.”

CSKA moscow lead the Russian Premier League table with 61 points from 29 games. Zenit St. Petersburg, who have been penalised with a 3-0 technical defeat and fined one million roubles ($28,500) after one of their fans punched Dynamo Moscow captain Vladimir Granat during their penultimate league match, are second with 60 points.
