Christian Dating – 3 Things that Are Hindering You While You’re Waiting On God

images (27)Patience is a virtue, but it can sometimes be useless when you’re waiting on God to send you the man that he has for you. Not because the principle of waiting on God isn’t best, but because you may be overlooking things that are defeating the purpose of the process. It happens to a lot of people, and there is plenty we can learn from the mistakes made. There are plenty to choose from, but here are three things to consider that may be hindering you while you continue to wait on God.

Your Naomi Is A Hater

In the biblical story of Ruth and Boaz, Ruth received guidance from her mother-in-law Naomi on how to “get her man”. One can conclude that Naomi genuinely wanted to see Ruth find a good husband, even from before they found out about Boaz. Well I hate to say it, but some of you ladies have women around you that are not as genuinely interested in you finding a man, at least not before them. It may not be intentional or malicious, but I have seen many cases where friends or family have a huge negative impact on an individual whether it be through misguided counsel, spreading negative perceptions, and sometimes flat out sabotaging potential relationships. You have to be mindful of their spirit, and if they are operating from a truly positive place. If you’re going to wait on God then always remember to talk to God. You can rest assured he isn’t trying to hate on you, and only wants what is best for you.

You Think You’re Ready But You’re Not Prepared

A lot of you will say and believe that you’re ready for the relationship you desire. You may have a lot of great things going on for yourself. and in your eyes, what could possibly be left in your current phase of life. Well, it could be a lot more than you think. Some of you could get that man that is best for you right now, and you may either run from it or sabotage it because you aren’t truly prepared for it. Relationships take work, and a lot of love. When you’re waiting on God’s best, he will also expect your best. You are a great woman, but some of your greatness is still buried underneath a lot of unaddressed negativity from the past. In some cases, it may not even be about a lack of healing in your life. It may simply be that you have a purpose, and certain goals need to be achieved before God brings a man/relationship into the picture. The last thing God wants is for you to be distracted. So continue to focus on him and find out how you need to prepare for the blessing that is waiting on you.

You Feel Some Kind Of Way About Being Submissive

Say the word “submissive” to some women and they immediately go into battle mode on the topic. You may be one of those women who isn’t really feeling this whole submission thing, and feel some men are simply trying to take advantage. The truth is some men are, but that doesn’t change the need to embrace the principle of submission. The reality is that when you’re waiting on God you will be tested with your submission to Him. As many women that love God, it can still be very uncomfortable to relinquish control and hand things over to Him. If you as a woman can’t do it with God, then there is no way someone can expect you to embrace submission with a man. Just know that I am not encouraging you to be a doormat, and letting some guy run all over you. If he isn’t capable of being the man you need, then he isn’t the guy you need to be with, much less embrace submission with. Embracing submission does not make you less than his equal, and the man who truly loves you isn’t interested in treating you as such. There is always much more to it, and if you’re interested in getting some further insight you should definitely check out the bestselling book “God Where Is My Boaz“.
