Fulham, Cardiff Drop Out of the Premier League

Fulham were relegated after a 13-year stay in the Premier League as they suffered a heavy defeat at Stoke.

The ‘Cottagers’ needed victory to keep hopes of survival after Sunderland had secured a shock win at Manchester United.

Nigerian striker Peter Odemwingie tapped in Stoke’s first, before Marko Arnautovic and Oussama Assaidi, who were both excellent, made it 3-0 after the break.

Kieran Richardson pulled one back for Fulham, before Jon Walters finished off for Tony Pulis’ men.

Cardiff Relegated

Cardiff City suffered a 3-0 defeat at Newcastle to return back to the Championship after just a single season.

Newcastle, who had lost their previous six games, took the lead through Shola Ameobi’s first-half header.

Late goals from Loic Remy and Steven Taylor sealed the ‘Bluebirds’s’ fate.

Cardiff boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who won 2-1 at St James’ Park in his first game in charge of the Welsh club, has picked up just 12 points in his 17 league matches.

Cardiff have kept only seven clean sheets in 37 top-flight games this season, the lowest number in the Premier League.
