Interim Manchester United boss Ryan Giggs will meet with prospective manager Louis van Gaal in the Netherlands on Wednesday.
The Dutch national team boss is set to be appointed the next man at the helm of the Old Trafford club and Giggs, 40, will have a parley with him about any potential coaching role.
Van Gaal is currently overseeing Holland’s World Cup preparations at their training camp in Hoenderloo with Wednesday a designated rest day for the squad.
Giggs and United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will travel to the Netherlands for talks, as the club moves to finalise their new management team.
Club legend, Giggs, succeeded ousted David Moyes and helped United finish off last season with two wins, a draw and loss from the last four matches.
The Welshman had said he was unsure whether he would carry on playing next season.
A number of the coaching staff, who assisted both Moyes and Giggs are likely to leave the club.
United finished seventh in the Premier League last season and will not be playing in Europe next season.
