Liverpool Keen on Southampton’s Lallana, Tables Offer

Liverpool have tabled a bid for England international Adam Lallana, according to the BBC Solent.

The 26-year-old Southampton skipper has been a key member of the club this season, scoring 10 goals in 42 appearances and earning three England caps.

He graduated to ‘Saints’ first team squad in July 2006, after joining their academy as a 12-year-old in 2000.

“I’m ambitious. I want to one day play in the Champions League,” said Lallana earlier this month.

Lallana, whose form helped Southampton finish eighth with 56 points in the just concluded season, was named in the Professional Footballers’ Association Premier League team of the year, along with his team-mate Luke Shaw, a reported Manchester United target.

United are thought to be offering the sum of £27m for Southampton left-back Shaw, who is also.

Midfielder, Lallana, made his England debut against Chile in November and has since played against Germany and Denmark.

He has been named in coach Roy Hodgson’s 30-man training camp for the 2014 World Cup.
