STOP+RAPE

Today Mrs Jacintha Ejiofor, the mother of the victim, who was allegedly raped by a pastor, Emmanuel Matthew, revealed some details of the crime. According to her, a 52-year-old pastor lured the little girl in his bedroom, laid a white bedspread and a red curtain, then put the child on the bed and raped her with his finger and the manhood.

She has claimed that the vicious incident happened last year on March 12 and this crime is not the only one, as similar situations happened to this pastor before. She has told about another mother who had earlier blamed pastor for the same actions and was told to come the next day to hammer down the issue.

But this was never going to happen as the woman was arrested following a complaint made by the Mathew at Mpape Police Station. Reverting to the story of her daughter’s sex abuse Mrs Ejofor said that trying to deal with the situation on her own she went to the school but there were neither the pastor nor his wife.

Few moments later she and her daughter were arrested by the police accompanied by the pastor’s wife. On the way to the police station the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) interrogated her daughter and the girl repeated her story, describing the accused bedroom.

Thereafter the three girls were sent to the Asokoro General Hospital for medical examination while the policemen headed to the accused house. As the description coincided with the indications and the girls’ virginity was not confirmed, General Overseer of The Choice Bible Church, Mpape, Abuja, and proprietor of the primary school was detained.

The accused who raped two 7-year-olds and a 9-year-old pupil in his school pleaded not guilty. The offence contravened the provisions of Section 283 of the Penal Code. Accordig to the law, a convict is liable to 14 years imprisonment or with an option of fine, or both; Emmanuel Matthew was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 and a surety in like sum.

  1. This kind pastors should be convicted and have his church (with branches – if any) closed down and if registered, the certificate of incorporation should be confiscated. This is recommended in other to sanitise the christendom. The same thing should go for muslims as well. The Priests (Clerg – Imams, Pastors, Rabbis, etc) are suppose to be men of high integrity and a role models

  2. @ essien bassey, stop profiling churches as if all of them are the same. This is an isolated incident involving an exposed fake pastor, dont use dat 2 judge, there are churches and pastors dat represent God well people shoul find them out by their fruits, not looking for signs & wonders without righteousness.
