Okorocha Tasks Transition C’ttee Chairmen On Rural Development Project

Rochas Okorocha (2)Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo has asked the 27 transition committee chairmen of councils in the State to embark on projects that would bring development to the grassroots.

Okorocha made the call at a meeting with the chairmen and directors of administration and general services of the local governments in Owerri on Wednesday.

He specifically directed them to embark on projects that would encourage agricultural in the rural areas.

The governor noted that agriculture, especially the palm to palm programme of the present administration, would encourage youth empowerment and eradicate poverty in the rural areas.

Okorocha urged them to see their appointment as an opportunity to contribute their quota toward the development of their wards and make history for themselves.

He urged them to embark on sanitation in their wards to keep their environment clean.

The governor also urged them to create ideas that would facilitate developments that would attract investors to the communities.

He said the state government had concluded arrangement to organise a two-day workshop for them. (NAN)
