Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic plays his final home game for the Premier League champions against Hull City on Tuesday night.
The Serbia international might not be the only United player bidding farewells to the home crowd at Old Trafford tonight, with the most decorated Premier League player Ryan Giggs likely to be making his final competitive outing for the club, should he name himself for the tie against Steve Bruce’s men.
United skipper Vidic is joining Inter Milan as a free agent this summer after eight successful years at Old Trafford, during which time he has scored 21 goals in 298 games, with his biggest haul in a single season being five as United claimed the title in 2010-11.
He has won five Premier League titles, one Champions League, three League Cups, five Community Shields and one Fifa Club World Cup.
“I haven’t cried yet, but you never know what will happen with your emotions,” the 32-year-old defender said.
“It’s sad to go after so many years but I’m just glad I was part of club.”
Giggs, taking charge of his penultimate game as temporary United boss, could make his 963rd appearance for United against ‘The Tigers’.
When asked whether the home match against Hull could be his last chance to play at home for his career-long club, Giggs said: “It might dawn on me on Monday or Tuesday. then I might have to put myself on the bench.”
Giggs, 40, has amassed 13 Premier League titles. four FA Cups, four League Cups, two Champions Leagues and one World Club Cup having joined United as a 14-year-old.
“The perfect scenario would be me coming on and scoring but football doesn’t work like that,” he added.
The club’s longest-serving player was named interim boss in his 24th season following last month’s sacking of David Moyes.

Vidic joined united from Spartak Moscow for £7m in 2005, while academy revelation Giggs made his debut as a 17-year-old in 1991.
The defender thanks supporters for their support during his time at the club.
“As we didn’t do well this season, that walk around Old Trafford won’t be the same after many years where we have always been celebrating something after the final game,” Vidic said.
“Now, it has become a chance to thank the fans for supporting us this year. I think this is definitely the least that we can do.”
