Sharks Keep Poll Position of the Glo Premier League

Sharks retained their position at the summit of the Glo Premier League standings following a goalless draw at Nembe city on Wednesday.

City rued several missed chances, having fell short of claiming a first win on Match Day 10 at the Krisdera Stadium.

Coach Gabriel Samuel Umunna’s side have now scored four points from a possible 30 and are rock-bottom of the league standing.

Contrary to that, the hosts Sharks are still top of the Nigeria league with 18 points from a possible 30.

Dolphins sailed to a 3-0 win over Abia Warriors to complete a first successive win at the Liberation stadium this season.

Ebube Okpokwu headed coach Stanley Eguma’s men into the lead before debutante Jonathan Zikiye doubled the lead from a counter in first-half regulation time.

Emem Uduok completed scoring in the 89th minute, after a brilliant solo effort to help the hosts claim their third win of the season.

Dolphins are 8th on the standings with 14 points, while new comers Warriors are 15th, three points shy of their opponents.

There were also home wins for Enugu Rangers, Warri WOlvws, El Kanemi, Sunshine Stars, Giwa FC, Enugu Rangers and Enyimba International FC.

Kaduna United, under new coach Hassan Abubakar, were held at home to a goalless draw by Nsarawa United.

Kano Pillars came from behind to force heartland to seventh draw of the season.
