Volleyball: Nigeria’s Under-19 Visits Niger for World Championship Qualifiers

A six-man contingent of the national under-19 beach volleyball teams would depart Kaduna for Niger Republic on May 15 for the FIVB U-19 World Championships qualifiers.

Chairman of the Beach Volleyball Commission of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Musa Nimrod, disclosed this to Sports Vanguard in a telephone interview.

“A male team of two players and a female team of two players, as well as a coach and an accompanying referee, will leave for Niger Republic on Thursday.

“They are going for the final phase of the 2014 FIVB U-19 Beach Volleyball World Championships qualifiers.

“Six countries are expected to participate in each of the two categories of the qualifiers,” Nimrod said.

The FIVB U-19 Beach Volleyball World Championships are scheduled for Porto in Portugal from July 29 to Aug. 3, 2014.
