Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure will miss the first part of the country’s build-up for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

The Ivory Coast Football Federation have confirm the reigning Caf Player of the Year is undergoing treatment in Qatar for an unspecified injury.

The Manchester City playmaker is expected to miss the start of the ‘Elephants’s’ World Cup training in Dallas, and will reunited with Coach Sabri Lamouchi’s side in the USA next Thursday.

Toure, 33, sustained a ‘minor’ injury suspected to be linked with the muscle strain he picked up in mid-April in the 3-2 Premier League loss to Liverpool.

He returned two weeks after to help his club Manchester City secure their second league title in three years.

Ivory Coast play two warm-up matches in the USA against Bosnia-Herzegovina in St. Louis on 30 May and El Salvador in Dallas on June 4, before traveling to Brazil on June 6.

They begin their 2014 campaign against 2002 co-hosts Japan on June 14, before playing Colombia and Greece.
