10-Man Belgium Eliminates South Korea

Ten-man Belgium beat South Korea to advance into the second round of the World Cup with maximum nine points from three games.

Jan Vertonghen slotted in after a Divork Origi shot was parried to hand the ‘Red Devils’ a 1-0 win.

South Korea needed a win to claim a slot in the round of 16, but struggled to create chances.

The closest the Asians came was a Son Heung-Min cross which rebounded off the Belgium crossbar.
