Garba Lists 35 for Flying Eagles Camp, Alampasu Returns

Flying Eagles coach Manu Garba has invited 35 players to camp ahead of a 2015 African Youth Championship qualifier against Lesotho in August.

Lesotho knocked out Angola in the second round of the qualifiers to book a date with the Eagles.

Former under-17 team Goalkeeper Dele Alampasu is the most notable of all the newly invited players.

Alampasu has not featured for the Nigeria U-20, having missed his first invitation while on trial in Belgium.

He as well failed to make the team, which sealed home and away wins against Tanzania in the second round of the AYC qualifiers, due to an injury he sustained on trials in Belgium.

Garba has also extended invitations to Kingsley Eduwo of Sunshine Stars, FC Taraba striker Bobby Abel, Segun Alebiosu from Kwara United and Obinna Nwobodo from Enugu Rangers.

All invited players are expected to report at the Fifa Goal Project in Abuja by Sunday with their birth certificates and international passports, according to the team secretary Aliyu Auwal.

The winner of the August encounter progresses to the group stages of the 2015 AYC, billed for Senegal in March.

Nigeria entertains Lesotho on August 15, before visiting the South African nation two weeks later.
