Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemical Company will run at 100 percent capacity by 2015, Managing Director, Saidu Mohammed said on Friday.
The MD made the assertion at a two-day workshop themed: “Managing Information in the Oil and Gas Industry”, organised by the company for energy correspondents in Kano on Friday.
The plant currently operates at 60 percent capacity due to the improved operational efficiency of the company, according to Mohammed.
“Major units of the fuel section of the refinery, including the crude, fluid catalytic cracking unit has been re-streamed to provide the desired output,” he said, adding that one of the foreign crude storage tanks had been successfully rehabilitated.
He said the contract for the rehabilitation of the remaining two tanks had been awarded.
The company, according to the MD, had met with the host communities and several water boreholes had been built for them. Comprehensive water project for Rido community was also said to be at its planning stage.
