Nigeria midfielder Mikel John Obi wishes to stay put at Chelsea, despite playing second-fiddle since the return of Nemaja Matic to the club.
Spaniard Fabregas is the new addition to coach Jose Mourinho’s midfield options after completing a 30 million pounds move from Barcelona this summer.
However, Mikel, who is reportedly in the books of Valencia, Inter Milan and Galatasaray says he is happy at Chelsea.
“I don’t have a problem with the signing of Cesc Fabregas,” Mikel said. “We have played against each other a lot of times. We don’t play in the same position anyway.”
“Chelsea are my home from home, my second home. You never know what’s going to happen in football, but I’m very happy at Chelsea and I want to remain at Chelsea.”
The 27-year-old, who has until December 2017 before his current contract expires insists he is looking forward to partnering with Ramires, Matic and Fabregas in the midfield next season.
“I still have three years left on my contract and want to stay there,” he added. “I want to congratulate Cesc with his transfer and I’m looking forward to playing with him.”
