Military Shuts Down Yola Airport Against Nyako

Murtala-Nyako-and-leader-of-the-DHQMilitary authorities have reportedly shutdown the Yola International Airport in Adamawa State, thereby, preventing the state governor, Murtala Nyako from taking off to Abuja this morning.

The governor was expected to be at a meeting initiated by former British Prime Minister, Mr. Gordon Brown, over the continued insurgency in the Northeast.

According to a report by Daily Trust, staff at the airport said the facility was shut against all commercial and private aircraft based on orders from authorities in Abuja.

The source further stated that Air Force personnel thronged the airport early Wednesday morning and chased away staff at the control tower.

They also put the entrance to the airport terminal under lock and key.

  • When will GEJ be tired of this kind of politics. No body should tell me he has no hand in it ‘coz he control d military (Commander-in-Chief) and d order is from Abuja.

  • @Godman n ur brother GEJ r born morons. The gross ineptitude of Jonathan in handling nigeria is the most unfortunate thing that happen to us. Leave north nd northerners alone u dumb ass if not ur end is coming soon.

  • Aminu Ahmed, why will you say that they should live north and northrners alone? while north and the northerners are tearing apart.

  • How can it serve him right? Here is a governor laddened with insurgency setting out to attend a security meeting and he cannot fly, and someone is here saying it serves him right. Is it all about him or the state, the entire people of Adamawa?
