David Jackson shot a 10-year-old boy in the face during an episode of road rage on Saturday in Kenner, La.

According to police, Jackson was driving an Acura with his two young sons and their mother as passengers on Saturday on Interstate 10.

A driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck cut Jackson off, passed him and then went back into Jackson’s lane, reports NOLA.com.

Jackson and the driver of the pickup truck kept cutting each other off as the road rage began to spiral out of control.

Jackson allegedly fired a gun “three or four times” into the pickup truck, which was driven by a 50-year-old man and had a ten-year-old boy in the passenger seat, notes the police report.

The boy was reportedly hit by one of the bullets, which grazed his face and pierced his sinus cavity, according to Kenner Police Department spokesman Sgt. Brian McGregor.

In response, the pickup truck allegedly rammed into the Acura and followed it down an exit ramp and rammed it again. That’s when both vehicles were stopped by Kenner police.

Jackson, who was on parole for drug distribution and felony possession of a gun until August, was arrested by police.

According to WDSU, Jackson was charged with “aggravated criminal damage to property, attempt second-degree murder, illegal possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies, illegal carrying of weapons, multiple traffic violations, and possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine.”

The boy was taken to a local hospital for surgery and is expected to recover.
