American sprinter Tyson Gay will return from a one-year ban at the Diamond League meeting in Switzerland in July.

The former 100m and 200m world champion was suspended in May after testing positive for a banned anabolic steroid.

Gay, 31, is passed to return in Laussane, after serving the whole of the punishment, backdated to June 2013- the date he tested positive at the US World Championship trials.

Tyson Gay is the Second Fastest Man Ever, After Usain Bolt of Jamaica.

“Lausanne has always been one of my favourite meets and I’m thrilled to have it be my opening meet,” Gay said.

The athlete, who became the second man to win the 100m, 200m and 4x100m at the same World Championship (2007) after Maurice Green, was forced to relinquish the 4x100m relay silver medal he won at the London Olympics in 2012.

He will race in the 100m against American rival Justin Gatlin in Lausanne.
