World Cup: 2 Algerian Fans Killed In Car Accidents While Celebrating Draw With Russia

Two Algerian football fans were killed and 31 injured in car accidents in celebrations after Algeria went through to the last 16 of the World Cup.

Algeria’s civil defence body was quoted by national radio as saying that there were car accidents, two of which were fatal.

After their national team made the second round of the World Cup with a 1-1 draw with Russia, Algerians took to the streets to celebrate.

Last week a young man was killed and several others injured during celebrations that followed Algeria’s victory over South Korea.

Algeria made it to the round of 16 for the first time in their World Cup history. They will face Germany next.
