The DSTV Premier Basketball League will begin the 2014 Playoffs season on Sunday, July 13. The four best teams from the Atlantic and Savannah Conferences in the regular season will be involved in the annual contest tagged the ‘Final Eight’ at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. Defending champions Kano Pillars begin their title defence against last season’s runners-up Union bank, while Dodan Warriors line up against Plateau Peaks in Group A matches schedule.

The Group B match-up will have newly-crowned Atlantic conference champions Lagos Islanders up against the newly-promoted Gombe Bulls, while Mark Mentors of Abuja battle Oluyole Warriors of Ibadan in the opening day fixtures. The seven-day tournament jumps-off with three day of group actions before going on recess on the fourth day, as the top two teams from each group pit their wits against one another in the semi-finals on Friday, 18 July. The other four teams from each group to fail qualification test heads straight to the qualification round on Thursday. The Championship match- for the coronation of the 2014 DSTV PBL winner- is slated for Saturday, 19, July.
