The SAFA statement comes to put an end to endless rumors of the Nigerian coach accepting SAFA’s offer.

On the website was a statement that read: “The South African Football Association (SAFA) would like to clarify further insinuations that the Association has offered Stephen Keshi the job as Bafana Bafana coach.

Reports coming through and carried out by several media outlets are quoting Mr Keshi alleging he has an offer on the table from SAFA. “There is no iota of truth in this statement.

SAFA has not offered any coach the Bafana Bafana coaching job and we don’t take kindly to such rumours,” said SAFA President, Dr Danny Jordaan from Brazil. “It is not true because SAFA has not entered into a discussion with any coach or a representative of any coach,” he added.

Keshi had earlier said in an interview with SL10 said: “I have spent over two years as coach of Nigeria, and Nigeria flows in my veins but I just have to move on. “If the offer comes, we will sit down and talk and if there’s something concrete, then we’ll see how it goes. I have several offers but it’s South Africa that have been very vocal about their offer, so that’s the way it is.
