Stephen Keshi Confirms on Twitter He Quits The Super Eagles

The Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi took to Twitter to shed light on his future in the Nigerian national football team.

After the yesterday’s 0-2 loss to France, the Eagles’ were knocked out of the 2014 World Cup. Following the game, the Big Boss made sketchy hints when asked about continuation of his career in the national team.

One report said he replied “I don’t know” to the question regarding his coaching of the Super Eagles, another report said Keshi had quit, however his words could not be taken for the firm announcement of his leave.

Several hours later the message on Keshi’s Twitter page read as follows:

The information circulating in the media indicated that the coach, who led Nigeria to the victory at 2013 AFCON, would manage South African Bafana Bafana, but there was no official confirmation of this issue. Meanwhie Keshi said for now he plans to have a rest for around 3 months together with his family.

It would be recalled that right after the Nigeria vs France game the team’s captain Joseph Yobo also announced his quit saying he had done everything he could for the Eagles and it was time for him to leave.
