FC Barcelona have announced that goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is ruled out for two to three weeks with a back injury.
The German goalkeeper sustained the injury after a blow in training ten day ago, resulting to persistent pain. Medical tests he underwent on Friday revealed “a small fracture” to a vertebra in the lower back.
The Catalans signed Ter Stegen, 22, in the close season from Borussia Monchengladbach.
Chilean goalkeeper, Claudio Bravo, another summer acquisition at the Camp Nou is expected to stand in for Ter Stegen, pending his return.
