The nurse recently confirmed to have contracted the Ebola virus has reportedly died in Lagos.
The nurse became the first Nigerian death since the first case of the virus was confirmed in the densely populated West African country, after she had contact with the late Liberian man, Patrick Sawyer, who died in Lagos last month.
Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu confirmed the nurse’s death on Wednesday.
Eight more cases have allegedly been recorded in the state as the government continues in its effort to curtail further spread.
The disease endemic to West Africa has claimed almost 900 lives since the recent outbreak.
