Caf Passes Flying Eagles for 2015 AYC after Lesotho Walk-Over

Nigeria U-20 men’s football team became the first to reach the group stages of the 2015 African Youth Championship (AYC) after Lesotho failed to show up for a first-leg qualifier on Saturday.

The South African nation had earlier expressed concerns over the Ebola virus outbreak in West Africa, stating categorically its government has placed a travel ban on people arriving from Nigeria

Having not been served any prior notification about suspension of the fixture from the Confederation of African Football (Caf), match officials decided the Flying Eagles had walked over Lesotho 15 minutes after the referee’s kick-off whistle in Kaduna.
